wrong.. i don't know did you just ignore the math calculations i made?
here is information from a given article:

All sources agree that Semenya's testosterone levels are at least three times what is considered normal in a female. However, before you jump to the conclusion that these levels prove Semenya is a man, bear in mind that the range of normal testosterone levels in a man is roughly 10 to 12 times that of a woman. If Semenya's level is three times that of the highest level usually considered normal in a woman (80 nanograms per liter of blood), her level would still fall well below the lowest level considered normal in a man (300 ng/L).

Quite the conundrum indeed. It seems that segregating sport so that women have a chance at winning has caused quite the dilemma.
|
e
women do have a chance at winning. Perhaps now that the bar is set higher now, we will see this record broken in the future (same case as ben jonson senario). I guarantee you a woman in the future will break semenya's record.

No, why should they be? Black men run in races with other men. They are men, they run with men.
|
sure men are men.. women are women. But isnt it true that black men statistically have more of an advantage of winning the 100 meter dash?
what is the world record for a non african american in teh 100 meter dash? I think its 9.93 for patrick johnson and 9.997 or something for marian worwin. These are the only two white men to ever break the 100 meter dash in under 10 seconds. The records now are in the 9.7 9.6 range. pretty big difference if you ask me. Now should they have a whites only 100 meter dash to compensate? Whats the difference here for this woman who has testicles (non descended and with an extremely low testosterone level (less than the lowest limit average for men).

We're not talking about a female running with other females. We're talking about a human with testes and a vaginal opening (she doesn't even have a uterus. she's technically more of a male, than a female) competing with females, who do not have testes.
|
whos to make that judgement? Do you know that testes and ovaries are essentially the same organ? she doesnt have her testicles droped so technically she isnt a man by the same argument. Would you say that arabs are more men then whites because they have more hair as well? Whats with the segregation. She lived her life as a female she externally poseses female characteristics. She has female genetics, so she is a female. This is whats on her birth record.
| quote: |
No, she looks like a man. No breasts, manly face, muscular... She looks like a man. If she had long hair, she'd look like a man with long hair. Whether she lives her life as a female or not does not change the fact that her testes give her a marked advantage over her competitors that no level of training, or superior technology will ever be able to overcome. There's a reason she left all the real females to run a race for second.
|
arguably there are alot of women who i could use the same argument on but i won't. You are being superficial now.
The testes give her only a slight advantage comparable to black men relative to white men running the 100 dash. She should have her testes removed and thats it (if even). I wouldnt go farther then that. She should still be able to compete.
| quote: |
Obviously, training and technology, as well as drive and determination do more than a simple level of testosterone in the system. It's a question of how much that extra testosterone will improve your performance.
|
i showed the example of ben johnson's record doping where he had 15 % more testosterone according to tests. Yet his record was still shattered in the later future.
| quote: |
Ben Johnson is not Usain Bolt. Ben Johnson may not have been in the final race without those steroids. It's not a question of whether they will MAKE you run a record, it's that they improve your performance. If Usain Bolt was taking steroids, he could be running the 100m in around 9 seconds. Over time, sprinting records have got faster and faster. Ben Johnson took a 12 year short-cut. He shaved TWELVE YEARS off the natural speed-progression of the sport. That's a HUGE advantage. |
Her testosterone is not high enough to be considered a man and slightly higher then a women's HIGH testosterone.
Her record wasnt even the world record which was set by some lady from the czeck.
In conclusion i think if her testes are removed she should be able to compete.
