all the magazines and newspapers on the kindle suck major balls, most content is missing and its horrifically formatted

Have you used one though? I have, and I am overall, the same with reading long articles/books/etc on a computer. The e-ink display on the kindle is more representative of reading the actual book/magazine/newspaper in the color and all that than the standard LCD.

You're not exactly the target market though. How often do you travel somewhere that doesn't involve you driving? For those that commute to work via public transportation, this is a more intriguing concept.
