Yeah, Chris and I usually alternate months but this time both of us did a mix. The one with the Clovis track was the one for October, this one aired on November.

I actually listened to this right when you put it up, apologize I have been a bit slow with my comments... but this is probably your most complex and intricate mix yet, at least in terms of track selection. It required repeated listens from me to fully grasp. Lost In The Soul Shower was the definite highlight for me, being a favorite of mine in recent times. The Jin Choi song before it was great and lead into Soul Shower perfectly... though I wasn't too nuts about the track with the spoken word "who's up, who's down?". But the groove quickly recovers, even if the mix seemed to lack the peak-time elements some of your other mixes are known for.

Overall, a great job, and I will need to listen to it further, though I think #5 is still my favorite of the Spirit Soul mixes.

I listened to this while painting yesterday. It had a good groove to it and i like it more than your last one.

Nothing to add more for now, i will really have to listen to it more with my complete attention. So far so good though.

Not gonna say I didn't like it, but it was nothing memorable. This is after listening to Jay's set, which I feel was massive, as well as being late and extremely tired, so take my words lightly.

I don't know if you're to blame, or I'm just tired of this tech sound. I guess I'll go with both.

IMO the tunes are all too similar. As individuals these tunes would be fantastic, highlights of a set even, but when you combined all of them together it just turned into one massive groove that seemed to float on by. This is something I find reoccurring in your recent mixes. I only say this as constructive criticism, honestly.

I think you need more variety in you sets. Obviously we all know your preferred labels, so we can already foresee what the set will sound like, but I feel you're not digging enough and providing anything unique. Even if the set was shared with someone outside of TA, a general tech head could probably ID most of the tunes. I think I've shared this with you before, and it's something I really need to work on myself too.

Also, I think the context in which you use tracks needs work too. This is something I admire from some DJs. Different people can play the same tunes, but it's the context in which they are used that makes them sound so much better compared to when played by others. I would say you need more fillers, and more absolute bangers, to really set tunes apart. Peaks and valleys, ya know?

By any means feel free to pull a , as I am no one to take advice from, lol.

I await your next episode.

Thank you for the comments dude and I'm glad that you liked it. Like I said before, that Tolga Fidan remix of the Jin Choi track is a real pleasure to mix in and out of. Even though there's a lot going on in the track, it's all very subtle and it doesn't take up much "space". It allows you to put pretty much anything on top of it and for long layering which I did here.

Thanks Jay, I'm noticing my last two mixes (005 and 006) caused very different reactions. And it's weird because I thought you would have liked 005 a bit more as it's definitely more tech oriented than anything I've done before. Glad you liked this one and I'm looking forward to anything else you have to say.

Thank you for your extended review mate. The thing with this mix is that I took a different approach to it than the others I've done, perhaps a similar one to the one I took with my "Groove" mix but more tech-housey. The main point to it was actually, to be subtle with the selections mostly during the first half of the mix. I wanted to create a steady groove and gradually build it up as slowly as a one hour mix would allow me. Since Chris's mix was supposed to air after mine, and Chris had already told me that he was going to play a bouncy, banging tech-house set I gave it a shot at trying to warm up for him, in a way.

BTW, I have a feeling you are all going to love this month's guest.

LOL. I saw that first and I was like "O NOH HE DIDN'!"

If this was intended to be a full-fledged warm up set then I take back my statements, job well done. Although I'd still say you could use a peak tune here and there, just to warm up those fist pumping engines.

And who's the guest? Let's have some hints

Thanks Alex, I do know what you mean.

And I can't really say anything without giving it away, but it's from someone that I know pretty much everyone in here thoroughly enjoys.
