I whole heartedly disagree with what the Japanese are doing...Yes you can say its Tradition but that doesn't make it right...

Looks to me more like white people once again interfering with native traditional customs, traditions and practices of non-white nations.

So what? Darkies need to be told what to do. Why do you think so many of them have volunteered to be slaves over the years?

Yeah, right. Because these guys don't do it in so-called white nations, and the Japanese are a primitive bunch that aren't fully integrated with the rest of the world yet.

You act as laws simple materialize out of thin air and are fixed. Obviously this is a campaign to bring this topic to the public's attention, with the hope of changing the current laws, while saving some whales in the process.

Not unlike the practice of harvesting shark fins, buy cutting off all its fins and throwing it back into the ocean to slowly drown and bleed to death. The public, including myself, is often ignorant of how our food is harvested and the impact it has both on animals and the earth ecosystem.

It isn't a simple issue of what is legal or not. Are you willing to fight for what you morally believe it right despite the current state of the law?

There is a large part of Antarctica and the surrounding waters that is under Australian sovereignty. It just so happens that these waters are protected waters and designated whale sanctuaries. The Japs are well aware of this yet they continue to enter those waters and hunt protected species, though not all whales are protected.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Australia has every right to board and seize those ships for violating local and international laws. Why don't they do it? Because the Australian government is too afraid of the economic damage it could cause in terms of trade agreements between the two nations.

That's a cop-out in my eyes. It's not even about the whales for me, it's the principle of not respecting local and international law. If you enter another nation and that includes their waters, you should abide by their laws, especially when the laws are supported internationally.

I'd already have shelled the bastards, right after drawing dotted lines in the water to signify where the border is.

On a related note, did I ever tell you about the time we went on a road trip to Melbourne and as we were crossing the Aubury-Wodonga bridge (ie the border between NSW and VIC), one of the chicks goes "So where are the lines? Like, isn't there meant to be a border in the water like on the map?"
