How the hell would that be possible?
Wait... why aren't you getting the advertised speed without a download accelerator?

Pointless if you have a computer and a LAN though? You can use PS3 Media Server, TVersity, or a whole host of other apps that can just stream direct to the PS3 without issue. You don't even need a terribly powerful machine either.

I've heard of them but have never tried it. Which one do you use/recommend?
As long as my streaming computer has the codecs I shouldn't have any issues playing on ps3? How about files that have additional subtitle fiels (.srt)?
common issues?

I can't comment on the subtitle issue as I have yet to play any with them, but I use PS3 Media Server on Linux. I had an issue with the newest version, but the 1 version back doesn't have the issue.
It basically just works for us here at work. The only thing that will suck, is if you want to stream HD content, you must use Gbit or 802.11N, since none of the others have enough bandwidth to do HD. Unless you are okay starting it, pausing it for about 30 minutes to buffer a large chunk of data, and then starting to watch.

I use Vuze for torrents. It gets the job done, though I haven't use any other applications so I can't really say if it's better or worse than others.
What kind of DVD player software do you guys like the most?
