I agree with most of what was said.
I had no clue there was a Brad interview until i read this thread.
Honestly the main forum usually has nothing that interests me so I stick in here, DJ Booth, or Music Production forum. The NYTA scene is more close knit and everyone knows each other which is nice.
As for DJs/Producers:
The one thread per artist rule is my vote. I used to do this when i first started the podcast and it worked well for me and gained me some listeners while keeping it organized.
The problem with posting in the main DJ Promotion forum, is the # of mixes that go up each day, and the large variety of users. On the NY board...someone will say "Oh look Wayde posted a mix, sweet ive heard of him lets check that out"
On the main promotion forum in my opinion, people will just say "oh, whos that, ill pass on this one"
For this reason, I have stopped even posting on that thread I had because It just isn't really worth the time. Once again, my main vote is for a 1 thread per artist deal, but I wouldnt mind just one dedicated thread as well(might get excessive though)
The events forum im liking a bit but im getting used to it. I keep forgetting to check it but I dont feel its such a bad thing.
I think the main things to improve upon are local support. DJ Mixes and any other LOCAL artist promotion is awesome. If someone out of NY/DC/Tri Stateish area posts their stuff for promotion then it should be moved.
That said, Z has done a fantastic job of cleaning a lot of stuff on the forum up. By far the nicest and best mod around!
I would just like to see more local artist integration again. Hopefully Swamper will take our ideas in to consideration.
Cheers!!
