welllllll, u are asian. So yes AWESOME review. I laughed out loud numerous times reading it. You have quite a way with words! You were a little hard on Armin though!! sheesh!
I had a blast last night. Got there around 10:30 with Funky, who forgot her ID and had to go back home! LOL silly girl. And Funky, I didn't even get ID'd AT ALL. You probably wouldn't have needed it! Only waited in line for 20mins or so, not bad at all.
Guv was fucking stupid rammed. I stayed for Blake Jarrell's set that was so-so. As already mentioned, he played some really good tracks, but he also played some really bad ones. He played one or two tracks that weren't even EDM tracks...I forget what they were now, but seriously, they didn't fit in well with the set, or even at Guv for that matter! meh Reminded me of when ATB played The Killers - Somebody Told Me, and it did not at all sound like it had been remixed. um no.
I wanted to stay for all of Armin's set, but it was just TOO busy. Maybe it was just me, but I also found the main room sound could have been a little louder, just a little. I wasn't feeling the bass as much as I normally do. I dunno.... Maybe I'm just deaf, that's also a possibility. Glad I was in there for the intro though, very cool. The vibe in main room was def. electric. I was really disappointed that there were NO decorations!! wtf?! They could have done something cool in there for ASOT, no? There was nothing in Kool Haus either. They could have at least recycled the lightning bolts for the third time..LOL. The all access events usually have cool decor, that was lacking last night. Armin was decent for the small part of his set that I heard, although, I hated that Faithless track or remix. I'm so sick of hearing that dude's (maxi jazz?) voice in tracks. Something about his voice irritates me so much. His voice always turns decent tracks, into shit tracks. Music Matters comes to mind. I'd say Dance4Life too, but that entire track is shit, even without his voice.
I basically spent the entire night going from room to room to room. I get bored, and like to change it up. I actually checked out Guetta for a bit, and have never had anything nice to say about him, other than that "World Is Mine" is a classic. BUT, I HATE to admit that I had fun listening to part of his set. I said i was going to keep this info. to myself, but fuck it, I dug him. I grew up listening to a lot of rap and hip-hop (i lived in a border city, I got all detroit radio stations), and for a mix of mash-up/hip-hop/electro, I must admit, he does it well. What can I say, I got low to Guetta. But only for about 20mins, then I'd had enough.
I called it an early night at around 3....3:30ish, because I'm old. Missed a lot of the trance, again, but still had an amazing time. I also agree that the staff was amazing last night, and that the one-way flow of traffic was annoying, but necessary. Well done Guv.
