Did you even watch the games? Yes, they won 1-0 and it was due to the fact that every team that played Spain up to the semi-finals used the same strategy that Mourinho used to play Barca: build a fucking 9 man wall in front of the goal and then try to counter-attack.

I'm assuming you mean that you're proud of how far your national team made it. I wouldn't be, considering they managed to be a fucking disgrace to everything Dutch football has stood for over the past 40 years.
Man, the dutch really are terrible losers. The cheek of their players to say howard webb favoured the Spanish is of the scale. Webb done everything in his power to keep 11 vs 11. In truth the dutch should have been down to 9 men by half time..

I agree. I really have lost respect for Holland after watching the final. If anything, they should have learned their lesson after the way they got knocked out by Portugal at the last world cup. I remember a play where, Portugal were up 1-0 and a Dutch player injured a Portuguese and when the Portuguese kicked the ball out of play , the Dutch threw it into their half and tried to score instead of giving it back to Portugal disregarding all aspects of sportsmanship.
What is even more shocking is how Robben is whining about how Puyol should have been sent of towards the end of the game when both De Jong and Van Bommel were lucky to even be there at the end of the half - heck De Jong himself admitted he was fortunate.
Their own media, previous stars and the general public are lashing into them for the anti-football that they tried playing against Spain and we got posters over here calling Spain 1 goal winners. I can personally guarantee that Spain would have spanked them 3-0 if they didn't build a 9 man defense, thats the quality that Spain had. Did you even watch their games and see how much of the game was played in the oppositions half? And im talking about every game starting with the Swiss one.
Regarding the Spanish players going to ground easily; that was a classic case of the Dutch playing right into their hands. Spain knew that the Dutch are going to come out to hurt them and just decided that going to ground easily would make them think twice about kicking the living daylights out of the Spanish.

You know what... I was going to write a terribly long, (try to be) unbiased essay that would try to explain how this is the way the Dutch should view it but I think you just summed it up perfectly right there. I'm glad it came from a non Spanish supporter in truth.

man only 586 total posts in the world cup forum during the course of this tournament.
During the 2006 tournament, we had a total of 11,000+ posts. SD really has waned in popularity.
