you make a good point here. i limit what i say on facebook pretty significantly because i don't think it should be used for sharing information about myself that isn't already public knowledge. that being said, i do still find it useful to keep track of friends who i don't always have time to talk on the phone with or don't reply to emails. it's better to see a periodic photo of their kid on facebook than to talk to them only once a year.

i have been meaning to join linked in because it seems like a respectable professional networking site. i know a few people who got pretty good jobs from it while not looking for a job, and i have been invited to groups on it from several vendors that i work with. i think it might actually be a good tool.

Don't have Facebook, myspace or any other thing. I only use msn messenger and yahoo.

I don't honestly know the reason to why I never got into these. Many colleagues wanted to have me, especially after highschool was done so we could keep contact, but none of these ever felt appealing to me. I don't really have many pictures of myself to share to others and the people I'm interesting in keeping contact with, I do so by other means.

I resisted it until very recently, but I've made a lot of friends all over the country and after some incredible headaches sorting out meet-ups with people I realised I was being pointlessly stubborn in the face of a practical benefit.

My profile is pretty minimal, though. No photos and no information beyond my date of birth and email address. Only 38 friends too - I declined a long list of old classmates who barely knew me at the time.

i guess its a good way of keeping in touch with lots of friends

but the ones i really want to keep in touch with i already do thru
phone/msn/email

plus there are alot of security issues with those sites

i have it all but i don't communicate with my closest friends over any of those sites.

i only use Facebook. honestly it's great for keeping in touch with friends who live far away, networking, party planning, and for finding new mixes/releases/events.
