It almost seems as if it were meant to be a dining room, not a living room. I can see how it's tough to fit everything in.

Bullshit.
Those forces combine to create a soaking, boiling mudstorm on Valentine's Day.

I really like the look of that. How exactly do you get the cables to go behind the wall though? And how expensive is it to do? And how much of a ball ache is it to change if a cable needs replacing? And what sort of work are you looking at if you want to take the TV down and put it all back to normal? Questions, questions, questions.
Those long shelves underneath for the boxes look really nice too. I am designing a rather elaborate media centre so would probably end up filling both of those long shelves with equipment. Could end up looking rather sexy.
you can go the cheap and economical way and get one of those wire cover kits...(which i also need to get one of) like THESE ..you can find cheaper ones online, those are just an example..
then you can paint the mold the same color as the wall and it'll be virtually invisible..installing the wall mount WILL take some time, but with the correct tools its an easy 30min project..by the looks of that room, i dont think ull be doing lots of rearranging anyway...
I'm not so concerned about mounting the TV on the wall, I've done that before for someone. I was just wondering what the process is for hiding the wires behind the wall, as that appears to be what they've done in that picture you posted. I will probably get something like that kit to begin with but would eventually like to do a proper job on it.
I had briefly considered mounting the TV on the wall, but I wasn't sure I'd be able to get a TV stand thin enough to keep everything as close to the wall as possible - Hadn't thought about some nice looking shelves like in that picture.
And I'm not so concerned about needing to rearrange, but I may be required to put the room back how it was should I ever decide to sell up.
