i listened to it, its clean and tidy, but meh im not impressed. im taking a look at your other work, and i cant even listen to it without my ears getting tired quick, such as your piledriver remix, its quite a nuisance. whatever though, atleast you're happy with it like you said.

Tastes differ i guess, what one finds "boring" someone else finds "smooth" What one finds "aggressive" someone else finds "ear piercing". But beyond all of that there is something like absolute quality in a track, which is the balance in the mix (regardless of patch/tone preference) the amount of dynamics, overall loudness etc.

And you have a lot to gain there. I guess decent (as in non coloured) monitors will be your first requirement, These don't need to be overly expense, DJ RANN already gave a nice summary a few weeks ago. How old are you BTW?

And no, ive no problems with my PC at all thank you very much I can run some FATSOs, some EMT140s, 4K buss compressors etc etc with 0 cost to my quadcore, ill let ACE and Alchemy do their best to bring it to its knees, hasnt happened yet tho

Well, thats what we've been tryin to say. The UAD plugs don't come at zero cost to your cpu. As M4B was just saying, the native version was found to perform better than the DSP assisted version of the oxford plugs...

And yes, I'm dead serious, I really do think those UAD plugins will be cracked, if someone can be bothered putting the time into them.

UAD DSP is a dead platform, i am pretty sure they will announce "something" really soon. As the DSP's are holding them back from competition, rather than giving them an advantage.

If you don't believe it? look at the prices of TC electronics Powercore platform, the've slashed all prices in half, you can buy PCIe boards 2nd hand for very little. Same for Duende.

UAD was a game changer in the 486 / Pentium timeframe, but is now nothing more than an overdue dinosaur waiting to be extinct....

Sorry dude, i dont get what you are saying here. You and I got could have the exact same DAW, load up as many native plugins/synths etc until the DAW is at breaking point i.e. it wont playback satisfactorily.

Now i come along with my UAD and load up another load of plugins.....you cant ?

@Raphie lol @ dead platform, anything thats uncrackable is never dead. Its like this...If UA ever go native the plugs will be cracked the next week...they will no longer make any money... THEN their plugin business will be dead - its all about making money, no-one will have to buy the cards anymore

Dont compare Powercore and Duende to UAD, from what ive heard Duende was a nightmare and was very problematic, Powercore was only useful for reverbs, now easily surpassed by Lexicon native et al, it was also known to have its problems as well

good discussion!
