Before that there were also some, but I think a lot happened in 1994 regarding trance. I could be wrong, but that's what I remember from that time.

I stand corrected. Still, it's not much of a stretch to assume it'd be the Corsten Remix you were thinking of when the rest of that mini-list holds two Corsten co-produced tunes and a recent Ron van den Bueken cut.

And truthfully, you're not impressing many by still listing trance anthems mostly from the 98-01 period. It's not "digging deep" unearthing tunes endlessly whored out on DJ mixes and compilations. Heck, I've a '92 'techno' compilation that has Age Of Love on it. Poor gal's never had a break gettin' 'er pimp his got'dang money.

I definitely disagree with this. If anything I think it would actually make things worse, because today's producers have access to an almost unfathomable amount of tools, including millions upon millions of field recordings, 1000's of VSTs (most available free of charge), 1000's of sample packs, software emulations of the equipment you speak of etc., etc.

I think the real root of the problem for the majority is laziness.

Too lazy to learn how to make sounds preferring presets, too lazy to make their own tracks by using the same engineers, too lazy to hunt down tracks not on DJ play lists, too lazy to check out unknown DJ sets, labels who are too lazy to try and push new sounds and instead requesting you change your sound to be more "current" etc.
