can't we make some of these posts sticky or add them to the archive?

Good Idea. I actually wish there was a Technical Sticky, which contains the in depth studd like monitor calibration, Panning laws, Mono Summing, etc. Hmmmm, maybe we should get some stuff together for Digi to post up.

I would also LOVE a "Monitor" sticky, as it gets asked without fail at least twice a month for as long as I can remember, and often the same answers are given.

+1

"The newbies guide to Monitor shopping"

- Pros and Cons of "settling for less"
- Listen before you buy
- Monitors and the room you're putting them in

etc...

Although even with that...most people like to open up a thread to actually discuss it. Even with all of that info and reviews on google, it makes people feel better to know that they're buying something that everyone else deems as good. You'll be hard pressed to get rid of newbies starting up these kinda threads.

But that's stickies two layers deep, it would be months before we ever got out.

And then, the sticky linking all of the stickies gets linked by another sticky, because there are so many sticky'd threads linking other stickies that you wouldn't be able to see any posts!

I mean really everyone has to agree with this its a great idea its just the factor of laziness and someone making it happen.

This would helps tons of producers out in tons of ways I really think it needs to be done and done soon. I'll help in anway I can but on the more basic shit obviously. Give me a basic topic to write about and I'll try to do it in a neat and organized way. Then just ask a bunch of people at different levels to write about different things, we combine into 1 thread and voila!

there are so many new m/s plugins that it is possible to have a mono friendly track that has a stereo image.

The reason I necromanced this thread is because i'm working on material exclusively for live shows and considering the shit holes I'll likely be playing it doesn't seem realistic to produce in stereo, so I was looking into it. Found this article too this seems legit:
