Just to avoid a misunderstanding (happened in the past), you do know that submitting a genre always means that you have to do a mix, right?

Hmm, the ratio of interesting genres to shitty ones has shifted somewhat now. Might get on this one after all.

For this competition, I think that everybody participating should make the effort to listen to each other's mixes, even if it's not their genre of choice. One thing I noticed from the last few mixes, is that a lot of people just seemed to d/l and comment on the genres they liked, and some of the more obscure/less popular genre mixes were ignored.

Also, perhaps Sushi could host the mixes for the competitions?

this is interesting for me, learning to mix different schemes than the 4x4 is a great challenge.

That would, of course, be desirable, but I don't think it's very realistic. First, people are lazy and don't have the time to listen to 10-20 mixes within a short period of time. And second, if some dislikes say Ambient, how can you force him to listen to a mix of it and write a meaningful comment? What will come out is something like "boring, not my cup of tea, not enough donk" I think the only people who will listen and comment are those who're somewhat interested in Ambient.

Meh. A couple of these genres I really, really, really don't want to get. Hopefully I won't regret this

Since I never got my mix made last time, I'm going to enter Tech-Trance again. And for the record that means Oliver Lieb/Der Dritte Raum/Etc, NOT SvD or some shit like that.

Can we really call "vocal house" a genre?

only if you are able to find recent vocal tracks where the vocal stems are just a complement of the track and not the main hook and that are not cheesy at all.

What looks easy and wide can turn into a difficult one then.
