Well the crowd starting to cheer and clap more. I don't think a bit of interactivity hurted obviously. But I get how if it's frequent then it's gets annoying. I personally liked it when Steve angello in jan 2010 would come on the mic and say random shit. not only was he playing good but it's nice to see the DJ not avoiding the crowd

Steve Angello never does anything well. Personally, I don't want to ever hear a DJ's voice when he's playing a set. He's there to play music. If you want to interact with the audience, you can do so without getting on the mic. A bit of interactivity with the crowd never hurts, but when it disrupts the music, it does.

I mostly agree that a dj should shut his yap when he's playing. Reminds me of a top 40 club when they try to hype the crowd up.
