Actually, it's probably the healthiest thing for them. Apart from studying astrophysics at Cambridge.

The worst thing probably being stuck at home all day, every day, and never allowing yourself to live your life despite your handicap. It's why some physically disabled people are fucking crazy - they're basically imprisoned, you know?

Also, when you do get tail, she does all the work!

I'd rather go to a club, enjoy the music, have some drinks, socialise and regret that I can't dance than stay at home and regret that I'm not doing any of those things. Besides, being confined to a chair has never stopped me raving hard while listening to mixes at work or in the library.

Obviously I do feel bad for them, but you always feel bad when you see a disabled person being impaired by their condition. At least going to a club is more empowering than being thwarted by some steps outside a building.

haha... I wasn't saying the alternative is to sit in a dark room wallowing in self pity. I was just saying that if you happen to be a recent resident of the wheelchair, and are having a hard time coping with the reality, why go to a place that will remind you of all the awesome things you used to love doing? I'm having flashes of Tom Cruise in Born on the 4th of July after he came back from 'Nam paralyzed and eventually cracked up in front of family and friends before the acceptance phase.

One thing I want to address... a lot of people keep saying "Oh yeah guys in wheelchairs get so much ass!" Is this true? I mean, honestly. Maybe I'm wrong but what I see is them getting lots of attention in public from chicks who have big hearts and want to help them not feel ostracized, but in private it doesn't actually work that way, save for a few rare exceptions that prove the rule. I've never heard a girl talk about experiences of being with a guy in a wheelchair; I've never heard a girl talk about how she would want to be in a relationship with a guy in a wheelchair (unless she was already with him before he became paralyzed); I've never heard a girl say, "wheelchair or not, doesn't matter to me... it's what's on the inside that counts." I think the perception of public vs. the reality of private is very different.

Why is it never a girl in a wheelchair?

I really don't know, I just have a subjugation fetish.

'Twas a serious question. Because throughout the thread everyone assumes it's a guy in the wheelchair, and every time I've seen someone in a wheelchair in a club, it is always a guy.

Perhaps (shot in the dark here) it's because a higher proportion of males are in fact in wheel chairs. Obviously a far higher number of them are there due to combat injuries, but any insurance company will tell you that males are typically more thrill-seeking and prone to expensive injury due to this.

One of my ex-girlfriend's sisters had a fetish for guys in wheelchairs. She'd seek them out on the internet in "Wheeler" forums, and I'm pretty sure she ended up dating one who lived near Toronto. I thought the whole thing was kind of weird, but apparently some girls just dig a guy in a wheelchair.
