Lynzi, I don't think you're the one who has broken up the family, it's his actions that have caused this - it would be like blaming his wife for the break-up, if she now chose to file for a divorce! If you had not told his wife and there had not been any consequences, who's to say he would not have met someone else. Maybe he only got the chance to start going out with you behind his family's back, after the last woman he was with also decided to keep quiet. The longer the duplicity is kept up, the more shit is amassed to hit the fan, which it will inevitably do.

How about we dig deeper..living a double life is an illness, he prob. needs help.

So let him battle his demons...when there is kids involved, as put above me "Bad peace is better than good war."...you dated a guy for one year..ok I get it but to go these lengths in these circumstances...not scalable to a 1 year thing.

Might not directly be my business but he has deceived and hurt a very close friend of mine (OP) and if he's able to do that, who knows what else he has lied about.
