It's not about democracy. That's the bullshit reason that Bush gave to try and justify invading Iraq, that the Iraqi people "wanted democracy." While it may very well be true that the Libyan people want democracy, this is about preventing genocide. It's about preventing a tyrannical dictator from slaughtering thousands and thousands of his own people. The Iraqi people didn't ask for us to invade their country. The Libyan people begged the world for help, and we answered.

Canada and others are still in Afghanistan. Nobody wanted to go into Iraq.

Dude. This is Iraq. Operation Desert Storm 1991. All I'm saying is, everyone involved needs to see this through until the end. So we don't have to come back ten years from now and start all over. Personally Ghadafi's ass should've been dead in the eighties when we had the chance. But we didn't. Same deal with Hussein.

Hussein invaded another country and was using chemical weapons. A bit of a difference there.
