Jeremy Roenick had this to say on PTI back in 2003
"I mean, how do you people watch baseball on TV? I'd rather watch grass grow, but its ratings still kill the NHL. The announcers have to come up with stories between pitches because it takes 30 seconds between em."
"And basketball, wheres the hitting? I mean they are amazing athletes and all, but man, hockeys got it all, fights, goals, hits, its just alot better."

but the other 95% of the time it's incredibly monotonous.
By european do you mean european tournaments i.e. europa/champions league? I'd agree that football in those categories often remains cagey (tournament football often is, high-stakes knockout play is like that). If you're talking league football, in the bigger leagues in europe, you're talking nonsense

Yeah, the best basketball player of all time was terrible at baseball. What does that prove, other than baseball is harder to play than basketball?

I only ever really payed attention to the champions league/world cup. Still, there's rarely more than 3 or 4 goals in a game.

yeah, that's entirely different from most league matches in the bigger leagues (even championship football in England ((a division below premier league)). quite often those tournaments are a let down. the goals thing could be applied to league matches as well, but I don't buy that as an argument for a lack of excitement or entertainment.

Both soccer and baseball are pretty boring; but to say soccer is even more boring than baseball is retarded. The only time baseball is exciting is playoffs, and even moreso during the 9th inning with the game tied. It's definitely fun to play (if you get to bat a bunch of times) but overall it's a fucking lazyass game. Soccer at least has some continuous momentum.

Also anyone who dismisses baseball as boring, not a sport, etc. clearly just doesn't understand the complexities of it.
that is a load of bullshit. I'm sure I've attended more MLB games than you, and still don't like it anymore...it also does not mean i do not understand the sport, it just means i find it boring as fuck. Like speed it up a bit ffs, a sporting event should not be a commitment of that much time.

What games did you watch? The Blue Jays and Expos don't count.
Also longer games allow you to drink more. I find no problem with that.

i used to go to at least 20 to 30 expos games a year, because when you aren't old enough to drink, there isn't much to do.
I've been to Toronto, Washington, both New York teams, Florida and Fenway. Not because I like the game, but to road trip with friends.
