well i was being vague but i thought it made sense. Its easy to kick me while im down but educate me on beatmatching.

It's all about energy transfer. If you want to beatmatch, do it as soon as the outgoing track begins losing energy and when the incoming track is gaining energy. You heard the mixing in my latest mix, right? That being said, there is not one particular way to mix, as sometimes the method you described works as well. The issue here is your cueing, volume control, and matching your time signatures.
