The Guv main room was epic beginning till end. Loved the setup with the extended stage screens and the new lighting. I found it hard to leave main room for most part of the night. I totally ignored my friend's texts to meet them in any other room but the Guv! I only checked out khaus in the beginning of the night.
The Junkies played a good opening set. Some big and groovy bass lines. Loco Dice's set was probably my favorite! Really groovy stuff and some epic epic sounds. He blew me away with the stuff he was playing, maybe coz I really didn't have any expectations from him. It seemed like Dubfire was enjoying Loco Dice's set. He seemed to be grooving and dancing around, behind him on stage. Loco Dice messed up once though and it was very apparent.
Dubfire totally did show up in a wife-beater for a reason. He brought out his best! Some big sounds- big room techno. Loved Dubfire's visuals. It seemed like he was playing according to his mood. He really didn't interact with the crowd at all. But nonetheless he played quite a set. I wouldn't compare it to the Family day set. Mostly coz he played only for 2.5 hours so wouldn't expect a lot more than he delivered.
I was pretty shammered by the time Victor Calderone got on. He had a rather slow opening but he brought out some good sounds as well. Long build ups but not very jamming break-downs. I stuck around till 6:30.
All in all an epic night for me! I payed $95 for my ticket, and attended only Day 1 but I got what I payed for. 3 class acts- Loco Dice, Dubfire and Victor Calderon, back to back! I got my Guv fix. Hopefully a good Haloween line-up this year!
