Yep. No one sounds like them. First time I heard their music was Bass Oxigen about 2005/6 and I was like what the fuck.....Truly great producers.

Michael Cassete isn't one person it's two guys that are much older than 16. They also have a bunch of aliases that most people aren't aware of, one of the most prominent at the moment being Komytea.

I quite like MC. Shadows Movement is a definite favourite:

Ha ha, yes, sorry I mean't Mat Zo ( I think) - a guy who A&B signed when he was alledgedly 16 yo. Some of his tracks on Above & Beyond compilations, we always skipped his tracks - the least dancy, least vibey, least groovy EDM I've come accross, mind you this was about 08/09, perhaps his later stuff improved.

Yeah, Mat Zo sucks. I've seen him DJ too, and he's rubbish. Michael Cassete are pretty good.

L4C and Rodri.. Quality posts. Appreciated.

I never got into the 'roots' of things - this gives me a place to start listening!

I would not say my picks were anywhere near or close To being roots. I kinda bypassed the whole post ital disco / techno / acid house.

Ah well see now that makes sense. I've honestly rarely come across people that don't like Michael Cassette. Mat Zo... I don't dislike him but I find most of his tracks far too formulaic. I do really like one of his newer tracks but I can't remember which one.
