Late 90's and early 00's. I remember going in to these illegal warehouse parties when I was 16. My friend took me to few of these events and my first reaction was pretty much "wtf.." but grew into it pretty fast. Started going in to clubs and, well.. Here we are.
I owe a huge thanks to DJ Orkidea for all he has done for Finnish club scene. I doubt I would be where i'm at right now without him.
Couple of tracks that were huge part of my younger days. Well, they still are.

Had to bring this back...I was going to reply to his but I got all drunk and high and busy with work and forgot...lol!
I used to actually spin hip-hop at clubs back in Pittsburgh until about 08. that's when I decided to go for the house techno ish full time.
Mainly that came from me being bored with rap and hip-hop and being old and jaded and wanting to do something more dynamic musically.
Alot of my friends at the time gave me weird looks for switching it up...but I loved the music so much and had been into it for a decade before that I didn't even care. They were tellin me "yo, why don't you play hip-hop anymore?" like I completely abandoned it.
I do my thing DJ wise. I play house and techno mostly...but with my knowledge of music and the kids who love it...I have no problem putting rap/hip-hop into my sets. I've actually been feeling alot of rap more nowadays because of dubstep (is this a dirty term on TA? lol).
mainly because alot of new rap is at 140 bpm and dubstep is 140 bpm and I like mixing it together. I like mixing that with trap (which has now become a fringe EDM genre as of late) and Jersey club.
oh god. Rap at 140 BPM? .. this can't be called rap. I mean it looses it's properties. its no longer rap. they need to come up with a different name. anywho: post a video of trap please

Yea...this amongst some of the more newer trap tracks...
