For the most part, I had no problem with tiesto14. But he never really respected other people's opinions, and was always quick to criticize anyone who was proposing something opposite to what he believed. The whole 9/11 issue brought out the worst in him (and some other forum members).

I am a dual citizen of America and Canada, and I have no problem with people "America Bashing" so long as they do so in an intelligent way. If you want to say "America Sucks", fine, but support it with a calm and rational explaination of why it is your opinion that America sucks.

I criticize America all the time, but it does become offensive (and childish) when no rationale for the opinion is provided. For the most part, the people tiesto14 accused of "America Bashing" at least gave reasons why they had their opinions.

If tiesto14 wants to come back, I would have no problem with it. But I would hope he would be more respectful of others' opinions and not take things so personally.

by the way, I'm Canadian and I have to agree with Tiesto14. I haven't been here the last couple of days so I don't know what really happened in the forums that got him banned nor do I care too much. Bottom line is I'm sick of all this american bashing too just as much as he does. It seems like everyone here is an armchair expert on foreign policies... whatever.

Tiesto14 was bold and daring...a little too daring perhaps.

He was definitely one to overreact (I remember getting in a marijuana debate with him back in the day that was like 9 pages), but I just think it was reflective of his passion for his opinions.

Spamming never helps though, so maybe he deserved a temp ban and a talking to by Swamper, but who am I to say.

However, what I hate is that some people are allowed to get away with a ton of bullshit (i.e. bashing ANY country, making fun of people for being naive or confused, shitting on peoples opinions, etc.).

I remember I was trying to run a series of threads about different interesting debateable issues that were chronological (The Debates #2 - Abortion, or something like that, and when someone else created one using the same tag, about a completely pointless topic, I just politely asked him to use different thread titles. Then I get made fun of and flamed by a bunch of people. I admit, it was childish, but I didn't say "HEY YOU ******, DON'T USE MY GOD DAMN THREAD NAME! I'LL KILL U!" I was polite and direct. And instead of people just saying "Dude, it's not a big deal. Don't trip about it", I got "God, you must be quite the uptight little fuck. You want us to reserve thread names for you?"

To which of course I responded "Hey bitch, I was being polite, mind your fucking business." So then her friends go off on me for saying "I know nothing about her" when in reality I do (She can be a mean bitch judging from her post).

In addition to that, a moderator friend of hers warns me to shut up and stop being a rude dick, or he'll ban me.

I believe that tempers tend to run high, and the best decision isn't always the easiest one. But what do I know. I could get banned for my opinion

for your information Mods can not ban People, they can recomend a member for bannage, at the end of the day banning a member is really the last thing any of us want to do on these forums and luckily we've not had to do it that often.
And i think if this site was that shallow to ban anyone for thier opinions it would not be as big and as strong as it is today.

i really dont care or wats going in this site anymore. i hardly visit the chill-out room or music discussion. why? because this site is full of morons who just dont know anything else expect trance and the only trance they listen to is pvd, tiesto, etc. blablabla. boring this is a musik site, so if you wanna share your knowledge on musik, then start in the musik discussion. its very easy to come on here and make stupid threads. its been like this for some time now so it isn't new. im really bored of this site, everytime i come on here i see the same threads and same discussion's and morons like tiesto14 make it even more boring, as to his knowledge about other genders...will edit this post..lol dont have time, im in my computer class hehhe

it has been going since he started which is basically near when i started. he has always been on the brink for the past 9 months so to say it wasnt fair or is unjust is kinda unfounded. i mean theres heated discussion then theres just slating into people with no excuse whatsoever...

Same here! I only post in the Chill Out Room. Why? Because I hardly EVER have anything useful say for the Music Discussion. Speaking of, to everyone: HOW MUCH HAVE I CONTRIBUTED TO THIS FORUM'S MUSIC DISCUSSION? Probably nothing, if u ask me. I'm not a DJ and I never spun before (nor have I even USED TTs, etc.) so, that pretty much explains it. Plus, there's a lot of artists that I don't know. Aliases make it SO confusing. Even though I've been here since December 2001, I still feel like a TA In Training or a Junior, because of my lack of knowledge in the Music section. Most of what I have is stuff that major DJs played (Tiesto, PvD, AvB, Corsten, etc.) and it's all stuff that MANY others have on here, so it's not rare. I get most tracks/sets MONTHS after they're out. Most tracks, I don't even HEAR of for at LEAST a month after they're out. So, as far as me, I may be a good resource for other things but, for new releases, I'm TERRIBLE. I don't even have broadband so, I can't get releases fast, even if I heard of them when they came out. So, from all this, what would u give me, as far as participation on these boards? On a scale of 1 - 10.

if you find the board useful in any way then it has done its job, regardless of post count or how much you are "involved"
