I guess the best thing will be psy trance for heavy metal fans who usually disreaspect trance, andain and Luminary remixes for emos and Nathan Fake for Radiohead\m83 fans. |
Got my metalhead friends into psy/goa trance
Started off with everyone being really pissed, and put on celtic cross-hicksville (psy ambient), and then infected mushroom-the gathering.
That got grifa out of him and jai into it.
Next time; me, jai, grifa and aaron were a little bit stoned, and I put on bamboo forest-cliche'h (a really trippey forest psy track) they all loved it except for jai who wasn't too sure on the genre generally. Then put on a few other tracks... and jai ended up converting with astral projection-people can fly (which apparently should have lyrics, haha). And yeh, having a party in just under 2 weeks, and the idea of actually being able to play a decent psy set for people is simply amazing I mean as far as first gigs go, playing for a party of drunk people who are all plur about your favourite music genre can't be too bad a one.
I found some cheese trance on jai's phone too interestingly enough One thing I was expecting is that they wouldn't appreciate nice 16th notes or energetic basslines and focus more on melody/atmosphere, it seems I was wrong, they tend to dig anything good it seems psy/goa wise.
