All i know about Trap is that there is a portion of the hardstyle community that is butthurt about Flosstradamus sampling hardstyle songs. And they did a pritty shitty job doing it.

I just heard about this. I think its bullshit, because other "producers" than just Flosstradamus are doing it.

I heard a Flosstradamus song on Sirius XM this morning... it... wasn't too bad but not something I'd go out of my way to listen to. Sounds like dubstep + instrumental crunk in a blender, and it's better than some of the other EDM genres that have emerged recently *cough*moombathon*cough*

They had to take the genre SOMEWHERE afer everyone had copied Lex Luger for the millionth time. Just too bad it had to involve copying brostep cliches and awful stab synth melodies from the likes of Afrojack and SHM, when they could've tried something like this:

Kuedo's recent output has been phenomenal, btw. I loved Severent.
The first time I heard Severant, I thought "wow, this is fucking amazing. It sounds so different and clever compared to EVERYTHING." I love those hyper-speed drum rolls mostly. I'd say the album takes more influences from footwork, electro and kosmiche than it does this trap garbage.
After I spent a bit of time with it I was less impressed. I think the ideas are absolutely amazing but I'd like to see them executed by a more skillful programmer. Or maybe not even more skillfull. Just someone who arranges more so in line with my tastes.
I usually hate producers blatantly imitating one another but people like Cosmin TRG or Roman Flugel could make amazing Severants 2.0 I think.

Someone pointed me to this album, and due to the cover art being of my favorite game of all time (just see my avatar) I *HAD* to check it out.
Hello guys I myself have a library of more than 200 traps songs... and yes Trap artists sample THE HELL OUT OF HARDSTYLE... But my favorite track right now is ( ETC!ETC! & Brillz - Swoop ) Diplo, Datsik, and Flux Pavilion support.
I hear this shit at every club I go to now. The general consensus seems to be that it's better than dubstep, but that's not really saying much. One of my friends is making a go at being a full time trap producer/dj, I think this is his most popular song, it was on Radio 1 or some shit. I kinda dig it but that second drop ruins it for me every time.

Would this be considered trap? I really like this.
Now that's just lazy.....

In what way is it better than dubstep? Enlighten me. Even if you don't like dubstep, you have to admit, there's some amazing sound design and synthesizer programming in the genre... People's complaints on here are usually that dubstep is emotionless and abrasive, but so is Trap.... it just lacks a lot of what made dubstep so interesting.
And I wouldn't consider myself a hater either, a lot of this works live, but let's be honest here, it's not like any of this would be hard to produce...
This is probably the most interesting trap song I've heard. The second half sucks quite a bit though.
