I didn't really put it very well, but I what I meant was a character falling into evil in one tryptich and then being saved in another. All the "fall of a man" stories tend to be morality tales, and end with their character permanently in the shit for their bad behaviour but I don't see how the Star Wars prequels have any genuine moral message, and their protagonist has to left with some spark of redemption in him. I'm not saying that the original trilogy is more thematically rich because it's deliberately archetypal, but rather that it works because it's deliberately archetypal, whereas the prequels are tonally sabotaged because the exploration of archetypes is shoddy and distinctly secondary to getting to a narrative position where the original films can happen.

That would be awesome, but seems doubtful.

I'd much rather movies based on the KOTOR era. Getting back to the religious aspects of the force. A lot more shit going down, and the droids are evil bastards. Long live HK-47!

An entire movie about HK-47 would be incredible!

Interesting as hell. Toy Story 3 and Little Miss Sunshine had excellent writing- they both captured something actually sort of dark and comedic wrung with crepuscular narrative. Perhaps a perfect return to the original Star Wars quality that System-J rightfully defends?

I was hoping Disney would turn to its Pixar stable for some of the Star Wars gigs. I think Brad Bird would be a pretty inspired choice for director, too.

A fine choice, and maybe he will be announced Director after all? We just don't know yet.

It's an excellent movie. It deserved all of the praise it got.

Though I think the *entire* cast had a lot to do with its notice, as each and every character was excellent, and excellently portrayed by their corresponding actor.

For those who have yearned for a Yoda movie or action-packed Boba Fett feature, Mickey Mouse has some good news for you.

Bob Iger, chairman and CEO of Disney, confirmed in an interview with CNBC's Julia Boorstin speculation that the company is working on stand-alone feature films based on beloved characters from George Lucas' Star Wars universe.

These movies will not be part of the new trilogy announced last fall when Disney bought Lucasfilm for $4 billion. Last month, Star Trek director J.J. Abrams was named director of the new Star Wars: Episode VII, which will kick off the next three movies in the saga and is tentatively scheduled for release in 2015.

In addition to consulting on Episode VII, Lawrence Kasdan (screenwriter for The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi) and Simon Kinberg "are both working on films derived from great Star Wars characters that are not part of the overall saga," Iger said in the CNBC interview. "We still plan to make Star Wars 7, 8 and 9 roughly over a six-year period of time starting in 2015 but (there) are going to be a few other films released in that period of time, too."

He added that the implications for fans will be great "because there will be more Star Wars basically released in the atmosphere that is new and fresh."

I suppose that's cool, but I think I would have liked it better if Boba Fett makes another appearance in the new sequels. The books brought him back to life, they tell about how he crawled back out of the Sarlacc with his disintegrating armor and that another bounty hunter named Dengar rescued him from the Dune Sea afterward. (Yeah I read and own some of the books). I wouldn't picture him to have a major role in it, but there could be something interesting if he decides to exact revenge on Solo since he was the one who caused him to fall into the Sarlacc into the first place.

And as been said before: Mara Jade. For some reason, when I did get around to reading the Timothy Zahn books, I always pictured Jeri Ryan as a good choice for Mara Jade.
