Fuck that really sucks for the promoters. It pains me to hear it. Similar thing happened last year when Simon Patterson was brought to play in Vancouver at an after-hours club (great venue too) and there was probably 40 ppl tops, if that. He of course, like Ferry, threw down a terrific 2 hour set and it was the last time I heard real trance at an event. The exact same bullshit trance family crap takes place in Vancouver too but I don't know if its as worse as anywhere as it is here. There's a big facebook group called "Vancouver Trance Family" where 95% of the "members" have no clue in the world what trance is. The dash berlins, garth emery, cosmic gates, etc get all the attention and sold-out shows. The scene has completely died in that city. Hopefully things continue to get better for Aurora, I'm rooting for you guys.

Thanks again for the support, I've actually bit my tongue on making an official "thank you" on our page while I wait for the disgust to wash over me
It's a money game, it truly is. The venue and the promoter act like they care about what you want, but in the end are just going to book what sells the most tickets. I wanted to work with the local promoters to alleviate that, without competing with them, but of course no one is willing to make friends in this business unless it's profitable for them; despite what benefits it may have on the overall scene in the long term.
I refuse to sell out. I will not say, "I'm booking trance acts" and then sell you Dash Berlin tickets. Sorry, but it'll never happen. I might say, "I'm booking electro acts" and then sell you Dash Berlin tickets though
Nah, fuk that.
We are wanting to do something big for halloween, we already have a HUGE lineup planned (and soft-confirmed through their management), but it's going to take a significant amount of coin to hard-confirm it. After last weekend, it probably won't happen without external investors.
Aurora as a whole is willing to fight the "curve" and expand the scene in South Florida, but it's not something it can do alone. Last weekend definitely proved that.
