I have been a PVD fan for a long time. I used to Go see him every other month at Twilo in NYC. He used to play 6hrs of the most mind blowing music I ever heard. For the past 2 years or so I think his record selection sucks and he plays the same records over and over. Which is fine I know DJ's have those few records that they play all the time, but the ones he plays over and over shouldn't even made his record bag. I just wish He would get back to playing shit like he did around 98. I'm sorry to say this but if he is playing in my area it is no longer a must go an see him like it used to be.

True...
But if one followed PVD since the start he should know and dare to say he has gone downwards...

Hm, that is pretty true, PvD DOES often play the same tunes from one
gig to another. How often hasnt he played Nu-NRG's Dreamland ?

paul van dyk is a mediocre producer, and most of the time, a mediocre dj.

i'd have to say pvd pales in comparison to oakenfold.
oakie is just the master of creating an awesome journey/atmosphere in his sets. while early to mid this year he 'experimented' with some other tracks, if you listen to his recent sets you'd know there is none better going around. not to mention, if you draw on past performances, the em world tour sets are godlike to say the least.
i also fully disagree with the notion that dj's shouldn't worry about mp3 livesets etc. Surely the greatest talent of a dj lies in being able to take a listener on a journey if they're sitting at home/on their computer. If they can do that, then imagine just how much greater the atmosphere is at the actual event.
