The worst thing is it isn't just the stages, it's the entire venue that is cluster fucked. Such a terrible festival in general, I wouldn't even go to that shit for free.

wmc/miami is still worth it if you pick and choose the right parties and get cheap, early tickets. but blowing $500 on an ultra ticket + $100+ on drinks + taxis to downtown and paying them extra to get you back to the beach when the crowd gets out etc just seems a bit silly to me. |
zrce beach (papaya club) is not a festival. its the lamest festival i have ever been to in my life. The outdoor area is about the size of club space's main room. one stage. the end

I find it annoying that people call BPM a "festival" too. Isn't it just a series of clubs that happen to be playing dance music? Loved ADE to death but that shit isn't a festival either. It's just a bunch of venues playing music. Sounds like something resembling WMC more than resembling something lke Ultra, Movement, Tomorrowland, etc. You can't compare those "festivals" to actual outdoor festivals in big spaces, with numerous big stages.
Huge, big stages with top-notch production is just something that can never be replicated in a club environment.
But yeah, Ultra is still not worth the $500. . Movement VIP for $230 = unlimited reentry, amazing VIP perks, and a lineup that you will never find anywhere else. Love the focus not just on Detroit techno, but hard proper techno period. And there's more than enough big names to go around: Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, Loco Dice, Chris Liebing, Jamie Jones, Tale of Us, etc...

ade, wmc, bpm are conferences.
festivals are tomorrowland, awakenings, ultra, edc, etc etc etc. |
I agree but ADE and BPM both market themselves using the term "festival." And then attendees keep repeating that because that's what it says on the website, ticket, signage, etc.
Not a huge deal but IMO it's inaccurate.

i dont think you were there for hideout festival. it was something else.
hideout is end june / beginning july. |
I didn't say I was at hideout, the venue, people, generic cocunut flavored vodka that's watered down inside a greygoose bottle are all crap
I will never step foot at papaya club ever again. Festival, lmao more like the lamest club nights ever
Let's not forget how infinitely harder it is to get to pag island versus ultra. Prepare to fork out $100 or more from Zadar airport to Zrce beach and deal with shady cab drivers way worse than Miami cab drivers (even yours on New Years, lmao)
If I were offered the whole trip for free to there again I wouldn't take it even if 4 nights at papaya club are 45€ total

so not sure what you're talking about. |
My festival at Zrce beach (connect festival) was advertised to have multiple stages and boat parties. There was no multiple stages and the boat parties are a lame sausage fest that most girls deboarded before the boat left. Hideout is at papaya club plain and simple. They might use the other venue as well but it's lame too and the clubs are not joined together, it's about a mile walk west down Zrce beach. Don't expect to be blown away by anything special. The area was the worse place I have ever partied in my life
