Halliwell might be the most technically gifted pure DJ i have ever seen. Even when he is playing garbage EDM tracks he is worth the price of admission.

I don't think anyone goes to see Troxler play because of his productions, since, well, he really hasn't had any in quite a long time. And I'm guessing that his "crowd" isn't necessarily the most clued up, musically speaking.

I honestly think Troxler is a very likeable guy, and I am absolutely convinced it's one of the reasons he gets booked. Trust me, I know people who have made big records. You really just gotta get your foot in the door. Everything that follows depends on what you do once you have that initial foot in the door, how much you can milk it so to speak. And Seth has been an absolute expert on that front.

...but maybe - just maybe - Seth Troxler has a few too many "off-nights" due to his extra-curricular activities to warrant being considered anywhere near the 4th best DJ in the world.

That's fine, that's your opinion and that wasn't my point. Maybe you're the one having difficulty following. My point was that he's fucking great when he's on, one of the best I've ever seen do it. That is all.

If you make great tracks, which Troxler surely does, people will come to see you. End of story.

Really got your finger on the pulse there, Mark.

As Jack likes to put it, did you guys ever think that maybe he's that far up the list and people come see him because he plays good fucking tracks and knows how to rock it? I'm a music nerd too, but you guys are taking it to a whole other level.

Sorry, just an observation. Instead of thrashing dj's why don't we talk constructively about the whole thing?

All you ever do when you talk about DJs is say they "rock it" and "drop bombs". When people actually point out that Troxler is weak technically even when he's sober your retort is "mixing snob" and you accuse everyone of being a "nerd" for criticising a DJ. And you're the one calling for constructive debate?

How about you actually explain some of the things that make Troxler a great DJ despite his shoddy technical skills and his tendency to take too many drugs and shit the bed? And try not to sound like an 18 year old discussing their favourite EDM superstar, for a change.

LOL we're all nerds, I'm not accusing anyone. People like you just have too much esteem for your "criticisms" to ever talk constructively about this shit. I meet too many kids in my outings like you still ranting about washed up old timers like Sasha and Diggers, paying way too much attention to transitions, having no fun at all. It's kind of pathetic.

I don't have to explain shit, but for the sake of argument I think he has impeccable taste in music and has vision. He's not always on, not even most of the time these days, but if he is he kills it. What the fuck else is there to explain? I heard him tell great stories, you condescending prick, that's what makes him a great dj to me.

You might talk about the records he plays, what makes his selection different, how he constructs a set, heaven forbid you might actually talk about a time you saw him play and highlight some things he did you thought were special.

I don't think I enjoyed a single Tale of Us set this year. Other than a couple decent Maceo Plex remixes this year, the Innervisions/Ellum/L&D sound has become stale and piss-boring IMO.

If you're that interested go fucking see him (again), I don't know what else to tell you. I don't understand why I have to sit here and jab at my keyboard trying to yammer and express in language my opinions about some dj to you honestly. I'm not trying to get forum credibility for my perspectives through extensive rants and factual evidence. lol
