Thought it would work, congrats. That's really the best way to connect those speakers - that little converter box you have does zero to degrade the sound in any way so it's really pristine signal chain.

The only thing I would hate is having to control the volume in the box (i.e. OSX or Logic), but I suppose plenty of people are fine with it.

All you've got to do now is treat your room and calibrate them.

The only thing that sucks is that the box doesn't have volume control nor can I control it in os x. I control the volume thru the monitors and they are at -20 stock mode. (The way they came in)

I think you might be right that he could use the little fader but it's going to be annoying. It shouldn't (AFAIK) affect the master render, it's purely an output monitor volume control and I don't *think* it's linked to the master fader but you'd have to test.

I"m fine with where the volume is at atm. If i need to change it i'm sure i could always dial it in the on the monitor.
