Now Jay-z and partners are sad. Apparently some numbers (subscribers mostly) have been exaggerated when acquiring Tidal, formerly known as WiMP. Former owner counters saying "A publicly traded company was acquired, which means transparency of financial reporting was required". |
Lol, good luck Jay-Z - it's buyer beware and unless he can truly prove they doctored the figures, then this is going nowhere. The other thing is that he's only trying to sue for $15m due to what they say were dodgy subscriber numbers - Even if he wins, that won't cover 6 months of their losses.
He's fucked either way.
In related news, apparently, Apple are being very tightlipped about their Beats Radio numbers. One leak put Zane Lowe's segment figures as little as 25,000. Not bad for a web radio station, but when you think he was poached from Radio 1 where his show had several million listeners at it's worst point, they must be wondering if the price tag was worth it.
