it's hard to be defined.. only with examples. Deepest trance around would be something like James Holden's tracks.. kinda like: tracks that are made to blow up the roof in a party ain't deep.. and calm tracks that have a nice vibe are the opposite.

It doesn't mean deeper is better.. for me it depends on the mood. But yes I prefer it to the "hard" stuff like Cosmic Gate, Svenson & Gielen sorta thing.

sorry if I didn't explain myself well.. but it's hard to explain and my english isn't the best.

one-hit-chart-traxx are trash and commercial shit...blank&jons are commercial , so are scooter , atb , darude and so on..i even would call kai tracid commercial...
the prob is: most trance music is played on commercial breaks,e.g....

man.. get it through your head.. commercial doesnt mean shit.. i said this a billion times.. your suppose to like the music cause it sounds good. not because everyone else DOES NOT like it. That is extremely moronic of someone to say.. commercial is shit.. thats a dumb comment and i resent it since it means absolutely nothing.. it just trying to create a higharchy of knowledge in the music. you like it if it sound good.. thats that.. nothing else.. blank and jones, darude cosmic gate may be commercial but they are still a hell of good producers.. and im pretty sure they dont make billions of dollars and produce music solely for the money.. other wise they wouldnt dj.. think of it..

and please stop with the lame ass comments.. they just waste space

I agree...

Nrg2Nfinit...what you are saying is absolutely right. Why is something shite if it's commercial. I also agree that there probably isn't a trance producers out there purely doing it to make money. Some DJs do make a lot of money though. Some of the big superstar DJs like Judge Jules and Paul Oakenfold and some of those other big DJs with residencies in Ibiza probably make a lot of money though. You know, all those guys that spin on BBC1 and all that. Doesn't make them shit, but they sure are lucky I suppose.

In the UK, the Ferry Corsten/Blank and Jones type trance has been popular and gone down in popularity before it's even gotten popular here in Canada. I recently read something about the dying superclubs in the UK, Cream has closed in Liverpool and Gatecrasher don't do weekly club nights (I don't think they have in quite a while now). I think that people who try to catch the latest underground trend before it gets popular and then diss it when it gets big use music as more of an identity for themselves than anything else.
