Well, he DID talk shit about Tiesto about 1 - 2 years ago, so did he talk shit about Ferry Corsten ... mmm do some research about more of his interviews, I like BT, but he sometimes disappoints me with such comments.
I don't believe that. Prove it! What did he say?

I'm not saying that Britney can sing, but most trance singers can't sing for shit either, and that was BT's point. That's why I hate songs with vocals.
I study classical music just like BT did, I don't think I'm in need of any more musical education than what I've gotten for the past 12 years

BT blew oakie-a-fucking-way. that was my first major show and could have been unique. my experience coming in was different too. i hated BT cause of that terrible radio song 'Never Gonna Come Back Down' so had no expectations. Oakie was the reason I went to Rave on the Rocks.
Oakie was in his prime, mustve been 2kk/99. Bt didnt spin, he had a backup dj spinning when he needed something, but he ripped through his better trance tracks on his 3 keyboards with one hand in the air most of the time.
some may say...one hand in the air! wtf was he doing then? tell me this, wtf does Oakie do most of the time? they were both kickass, but as much as Oakie *wants* to be a rockstar, BT WAS. he even smashed his keyboards at the end. BT is THE reason(m&s - that night) im prolly here right now. maybe, maybe not, i think the ultimate determiner was that song being on GU013- so i guess ill say that Sasha is king. late|

Is this for real? When this sort of thing happens I only loose respect for ones who make comments rather than those who are getting flamed.

I have to agree with you here. Oakenfold is the biggest reason I started listening to trance, and some of BT's productions are amongst my favorites. BT's comments make him sound like a baby, and in my opinion he's damaged his own reputation with these comments more than oakie's. Earth to BT: no one has ever said the music industry is an industry full of justice and fairness(just look at how the record companies rape their artists). Bottomline, neither one of these guys would be where they are today without some kind of talents. BT has his production skills and Oakenfold has talents in different areas. Just because BT is a better producer doesn't give him the right to degrade a legend in his own industry. Do you think Mozart talked shit on Bach? I don't think so.

I saw BT before playing a set and all in all everyone was sitting. No-1 was up dancing, maybe a 12 % of the people there im saying.
Also most people will say Oakenfold is a better dj all around.
JaY
So what makes Oakenfold that great of a DJ anyways? I've never been to a live show, but his mixes IMHO seem at best "normal," i'm not sure why he has this superstar DJ status.
LIke, i don't like all of BT's shit, but i give him mad respect and credit 'cuz he is so musically inclined and his shit has a sound that no one else can reproduce, ya know? But to me, all oakenfold has is a name.

OMG Rave On The Rocks was the best. I was there too when BT & Pokie, oops... *Oakie where there. Hell of a night. I was blown away by both of them, but I think BT came out on top. Anyone know where I can get a rip of R.O.T.R. Lemme know. Anyways since Christina Aguilera can sing better than titty spears, I would love to hear her in an upcoming song. Did anyone see her on the cover of the new issue of rolling stone.
And speaking of BT's productions, Heres my list.....
1. Flaming June
2. Godspeed
3. Mercury & Solace
4. Sunblind
5. Running Down The Way Up
6. Remember
7. Kaistar
8. The Revolution
9. Never Gonna Come Back Down
10. Blue Skies
11. Believer
.......... I think thats it for now

i think every issue have been rebubuted(sp?) in this thread a few times now but one accusation by somebody that BT is being a hipocrite by saying that Oakie just plays CD and doesnt spin live....
i was at a party in NY and spent the whole time by his side... he was doing a live set (dissapointed me badly cause he was originally suppost to perform (keyboard+guitar) live)..at any rate.. he worked his ass off.... tweeked with all the knobs...switched the records...the whole shabang...(kinda sucked wha ha) and only for an audience of about 200 peeps at most...(was a record release party for BT's R&R)...
ok he's NOT a DJ and he DOES SPIN! (nothing pre-recorded)
as opposed to Oakie who is (not completeley a DJ too - i never heared a set longer than 2hrs from him - thats not a pure DJ in my eyes).... and he does NOT spin ...he uses pre-recorded stuff (at least acording to BT who is credible enough to me)
i heared frequent rumors that oakie does put on pre-recorded CDs...
(ok i'm not 100% sure cause i've never seen this with my own eyes) but the fact remains...both of these fawkers are not DJs.. the are producer(BT) & remixer(Oakie)..thats what i appreciate them for
i spent like 20 minutes talking to BT and he is the most down to earth guy... very knowladgebale about musik - too bad he cant put two records together (what a shame) -then maybe, just maybe he could be as good as pvd... but thats another story...
my point is BT is not a hipocrite he had a point that he wasn't afraid to make ...(IMO he is rather stupid by publicly flaming oakie)
as for britney..and all other pop and trance singers..they are all remastered to such a degree that their real voice cant compare -but i dont care.. i only hear the finished product off a cd..and it better be good
