Prog has its place in a night out.

I wouldn't like to hear prog as a warm up, as it wouldn't get me excited. Prog's place is late morning time (say 3-5am) after a melodic/upplifitng set, cos it is slower and less energetic, i find, so u can stilll move around to it but not juump up and down.

But generally, i wouldn't listen to it at home, cos it just doesn't do anything for me. Too repetitive and doesn't seem to go anywhere. Oh well, flame me

Is prog. and trance the only thing you folks like to listen to? How about some deep house, garage, 2-step, or drum -n-bass? DJ Dara anyone? Bukem? There's more out there than the 4/4 beat representation, and it's actually pretty good once you give it a chance.

That being said, I still bend a little more towards the prog. end. Like I said before, not as many bells, whistles, and repetitive synths. But I wouldn't kick PVD off my bed for eatin' crackers.

Wait, that sounded bad.......

I don't like most 2-step either, but Wookie is a good musician IMO. Some tunes of his really I enjoy. MJ Cole is okay too. Maybe they are more UK Garage than 2-step I dunno.
But stuff like Craig David, True Steppers, DJ Luck n MC Neat etc etc.. I just can't stand.

it's

"cheesy" vs "boring"
some people's taste vs other people's taste

So we'll never go anyway with this "fight".

now.. can I like both?

yes totally agree with amit.
just because this is TRANCEADDICT.COM it doesnt mean that there are other music genres out there, and i mean non-electronic.
Dont be so narrowminded?
I even like classic music sometimes! so what?! makes me a nerd or something?
you cant only like the electronic stuff IMO, there is so much more out there. tho i must admit i listen trance 3/4 of the time from since i discovered it (1.5 year).

tx
-Glad

edit: i like uplifting more
