The way that i heard it best explained is that when good ole whitey uses the word (or derivitives of the word) it is demeaning...however when a black person uses it...it becomes empowering to that person by removing the oppressive power that the word once held...if i were to say it...it could serve as a reminder of past oppression/control etc...if a black person says it is a reminder of the struggle against that oppression / control as is more like "eff off whitey!"...i couldn't really disagree...

Well...being black I fukkin hate the word...if someone called me that to my face in a serious manor I would take my bat to their head.
Sorry, if that was a bit violent,but I've had a cross burned in my yard so I'm really edgy about these things. My close friends toss nigga around once in awhile,but I know they mean no harm.

If youre not black u have no credability to use it whatsoever. Now if you have black friends that think its acceptable to use with them then so be it, if not you have no business saying it whatsoever. Im black i will admit i used to use it but not ne more because its just better words to use than that, something u realize when u get older.

But I didn't say that I actually say the word. I rarely use that word, I might use the word once in a while to be funny thats about it. Do you know how funny it will be if a korean kid says NIGGA at the end of every sentence he uses? But that's just....
