I said that I was currently downloading and at the same time listening to Armin Van Buuren [which I think is the best trance dj] and he said this:
Hey Why are you listening to COMMERCIAL MUSIC ?

What the fuck ? So when was that Armin become commercial that I didn't realize ?
Pls What do you think about this ?

I think your friend is a wanker, typical progressive fan sadly, just cos they listen to that they believe that they're a level above us just because we don't, but we don't have to listen to what they say, and its bollocks thinking that u do, just tell them to stfu cos it's not a view a lot of us share

ON MTV??? OH, you're probably talking about European MTV, 'coz in US
ShitTV, err, I mean MTV stopped playing music a long time ago... What we have here is just bunch of ghetto videos in between Carson Daily and other wankers. It's ironic that channel with a name MTV has more stupid fucking shows than any other channel... Besides, the shit they play on MTV I would not call Music... So, let's make few things clear:
1. Commercial for me means it gets airplay on TV/Radio - I have yet to hear Armin's stuff on regular Radio or TV.

2. US MTV is the shittiest channel EVER! I remember when being an MTV watcher meant that you were "rebelious" and MTV was considered "evil" at one point... Now - it's an outlet for shitbags like Britney Speartits, Christina Hookerlera, and Enrique Gaylessias.

3. Music scene in US is only now getting better... I bet most of the people here did not know who the hell was AvB and PvD only 2-3 years ago... I remember telling quite a few people "hey, wouldn't it be great if Armin came to US with a set?" and people would ask "Armen??? Who is he? Is he like Armenian or something?" US is long long way away from embracing "electronica" (as they say in the mainstream, kind of pigeonholling everything from Nine Inch Nails to PvD)

4. Armin could be as commercial as he wants to be, there's no shame in making money doing what he does... Hell, any single one of us would not say "NO" to record execs offering tons of cash. I mean forgive me for saying so, but when was the last time someone offered you a record deal for your Fruity Loops-made track???? Exactly!

5. The reason I find progheads abnoxious is because they think that the rest of music is "cheese"... Progheads, perhaps you can clear it up for me - what kind of shit you're on when you listen to 8 hours of John Dickweed??? I find him unbearable... he's a total bore, totaly uncommunicative with a crowd, with tracks that.... hell, I can't even explain it... I love a prog track here and there but for crying out loud - unless you're waisted on some wacked up shit, I can't imagine listening to this shit for more than 15minutes.

Thanks for letting me vent. Please, don't bother flaming - go listen to some prog. here .. let me play some for you:
Bang bang bang crash boom wack bang bang bank eeek eeerk oook bang bang bang chang dang bang boomg smock stock sock my cock........

That's what I thaught when I read this topic
Armin became a little bit commercial with his remixes to vorious tracks

It doesnt matter man, its all about what you like. Also if something is good it can also be commercial. I knoe im gonna get flamed for this but look at Oakey, his stuff is good and it commercial, because its mainstream. What you want to stay away from is commercial cheese, which is when someone is making the music for the money and theres no soul into it wat so ever. Last always remember it doesnt count if a prog elitist said it.

commercial or not. if you enjoy the music. then that's all that matters. we've become so accustomed with bashing "commercial" tunes without giving it a chance, it's a little disheartening sometimes.

the bottom line is, music is music. whether it be pop or trance (wow, never thought i'd use those two together in the same sentence), if it makes you feel good, makes you tap your foot, or wutever! as long as it evokes a reaction from you. it's done its job. that's what i think.
