well, freestyle rap is also about creativity and improvisation too. in that regard it is very similar to jazz, in terms of the skills required... not many other genres depend on this so much

i think mozart and beethoven are rolling in their graves when they hear people describe cambodia and flight 643 as "good music"
But I wouldn`t call flight 643 good music , or good music in a musical term . Flight 643 is nothing more than a Drum loop with some sounds that move around a bit . Theres no Cords No melodies just sounds put together , its quite boring .

Ghetto Booty house a la DJ Assault pisses me off, as well as cheesy commerical house & Gabber.

I love classical music...thats intelligent music.

Dislike very much:

1. metal of ANY kind
2. indians doing club dance videos (this was WAY WAY back, around the early 90s) The most cheesiest thing I've ever saw
3. punk of any kind
4. gothic industrial (like skinny puppy, friggin demented music, no flow, no cohesion, no melody
5. country (i can take some pop country)

love:

TRANCE! RAVEWALKER 4EVER!

dig:

hard banging house
deep soulful house
gabba

Taste. I don't know what it is guys and gals, but its like My ears are only tuned for certain music. my neurons just flare and fire up whenever I listen to some wicked trance. While other styles like country, pop, or r&b or goth does nothing much, they all sound bland to me.

To each their own.
Peace

Heyeye! don't go trashing House! I hope youre not referring to house played at soundbars or raves.

House can be pretty funky and kickin to listen and to dance.

I've been starting to gather a collection, some nice Dj sets are:

Dj Number Nine
Dj Morgan
Madam Zu
Rachel Auburn

Plus, how do you think Progressive Trance was spun off of? House.

Trance and House are important styles for the raves and.. It gives more dimension to its music.

peace

DJ Morgan, Madam Zu, and Number 9 are all pretty much Nu-NRG and hard house. Madam Zu is signed to mohawk records along with Chris C and Yoji Biohemenkia (no idea how to spell that)

Yep. To me, House and its subclass styles are a good break from Trance.

In fact, back then, they used to have under house:

tribal
progressive
funk
acid

soulstar.. what the hell are you talking about... the names you mentioned are ALL hard house, which has nothing to do with the other styles of house or even "house" as you call it. in fact hard house is very closely tied to trance..
please stop calling it just house

house would be tom middleton, halo & hipp-e, olav basoski.. etc
