HMMMmmmmmm are they mixed live? Did not think so, every single one of them is digitally mixed. So where is the validity in your point than.

that's different... those are compilations... what you were (and any other amateur dj) doing was recording a promo mix that would showcase your skills behind the decks and your track selection...

so what? why do you care so much about what I do? are you a promoter? amateur dj is the key word, even u said it. and my CD still showcases my skills, I did one fuck up and went back and redone it again, it still shows my mixing skills and abilities not on the whole perspective, but I still mixed it live on turntables. not some mp3 program... why does this whole thing bother u so much, how does this affect u or anyone else at this point in time.

A Demo CD can't contain any trainwreck at all.. not even a slight beat going out of place cause you're being picked on by some djs. I think it's ok to have a demo cd being edited. We amateur djs can't and don't really want to spend days in front of the decks mixing on the same tracklist over and over. Even the professional djs release cds that are either mixed on computer or were later edited on computer. Once the demo cds are out and you get the gig it wouldn't hurt and probably it'd be unnoticable to fuck up a mix a bit. Ever listen to livesets? Even PvD or tiesto or Armin fucks up every once in a while...there's no harm in that.

I really don't see the logic in this method

If you can't mix it at home, then gonna be able to do it in a dancing either
