My morals are equal to yours, except in one area and that is you've taken your piracy one level higher and showcased it for other people. |
as thou you havent actually burnt any mp3s? as if you can prove it and be anointed.

So I guess when Bush takes it one step further then you can become president. |
what has bush got to do with this discussion? lame!

How do you know how much money I have spent on vinyl, Dj's. I spent $3000 just so I can get to hear trance on an Island (Ibiza) and at a festival. Can you say the same??? Stupid arguement. |
as if we are interested to know.

But the main issue here is whether or not your going to cry about it or have a nice debate, which Im enjoying. But why dont you argue with this |
i dont see it being a nice debate if you are the one who started this thief crap and went on to make urself heard as the guy who is piracy free.

"You proberly heared that "Lightning-records" is closed.
It was my home for many years, and with lots of pain and sorrow it's an end of an era. As we all know Lightning suffered from low CD sales, getting attacked by MP3 downloading, and sales droping all over."
Thats a quote from MIKE. Join his forums tell him you played a burnt CDR for an audience and see what he says. |
There are millions out there without decks, who are not djs, these are the culprits. Don't push the bloody blame to fellow djs who do invest their hard-earned cash into vinyls.
| quote: |
You know what, I dont know enough about you and you dont know enough about me, but I do know that there are people out there who make no effort to support and happily played pirated music with out trying to get it legimately.
The fact of the matter is this trend has started and its not going to stop, whether I like it or not. But like I said Im cynical, to the point where I am willing to be a hypocrate. So whether I am a thief or not in regards to DVD etc, I dont care about that shit. I care about trance music and how the some of its biggest fans are killing it. *Note: Not saying wushboy is killing the scene.
"Its Time for A Revolution" |
you don't care about the shit in regards to other piracy that you do engage in but yet care about calling anyone who burnts mp3s thief, wow.

Jask - Wow you took the time to quote everything. Good for you.
Please read the other post I made (see below) and please, please send me a pm and I wont resond cause its too cold in Toronto to argue with you. I hope wushboy can let this go and even if not, im pretty sure I wont respond cause arguing through a screen bores me. If your ever in Toronto, give me a ring we will argue over some snow and trance. God Bless you my singaporian friend.
"I agree no more of this. but as for my accusations bad place at the wrong time for wushboy. Im not singling him out, but my anger is more generalized. The odd post of igonrance and lack of support have built up to a point and unfortunately it gets to this point. But just like my trance, my frustration builds up to a crest and then crash and I have to open my mouth, even if it means calling someone a theif. Sorry if I hurt your feelings calling you a theif, you must understand that when I argue, my goal is to piss the other person off as much as possible, thats why I often avoid these fical discussions that do nothign but take up Swampers Bandwith." |
hansolo, was trying to this reply when i saw this reply of yours late and the forum died on me yesterday.
fical discussions they are, piss people off you did, but glad u're able to make this post, heh, i'll definately get in touch with you if i do have a chance to go to toronto, till then let's move on.

This thread quickly turned from a interesting and informed read into a bagging contest between several people with different oppinions and an abbility to twist facts to suit themselves.
FACT - Record labels big and small are struggling. The difference is in 3 years time it's the small labels that will have died off while the big labels will have survived. Then what will happen? Originality, innovation and the music scene we all love will have shrunk to obscurity and the closest we'll get to dance music is the club mixes of Britney Spears et el.
The original intention of the thread as far as I can tell is that there are ALOT of CDJ's emerging that are simply not supporting the industry at all. Let's forget for a minute the arguments of 'rare and unreleased' or 'I own the original and are just using my own rework/copy'. No doubt this happens. But lets be realistic. In 9/10 cases this ISNT what has happened.
It basically comes down to conscience. If you are getting paid to play tunes then the very, very least you can do is pay for those tunes. This can not be argued. Max Graham and so forth may be making a lot of money from playing gigs. But he is speaking for the many producers who do simply that, produce. And get very little back to show for it.
People arnt pretending the industry is in a bad way, just to scare you into purchasing music. Record labels are dieing and almost none are starting up. Flaming each other on forum after forum isnt gonna achieve sweet FA.
