There has been some nasty bashing of the US/Canada (but particularly the former) and it's quite ridiculous, not to mention laughable and utterly pointless.

We're all in this boat together (meaning the world), posting anti-American statements just causes more hate.

I've lived in the US for 5 years and those 5 years have been among the most cherished in my life. Contrary to what many people north of the border think, the US is filled with nice and great people and most of all - *gasp* - normal people!

Also contrary to what many think, not all Americans agree with American foreign policy, indeed I would say many disagree with it.

See this ppoint i have to disagree with, that Bush got in to the Presidency was a sham, he won enough electoral votes to win, in the USA it is those votes that matters and not a popular vote, just as the same in Canada were the liberals have won more seats then the vote they recieved. I think it is a remakarable thing that happened when the whole debate about who should be president, it was a long wait to find out who it shoudl be, and the thing that shows the USA is a strong demomracy was that, did you see rioting or civil choas but people getting along with there lives, and the society operating normally. Then when bush won Gore accepted it and all this was solved through courts and not guns.
