Let's return to Pearl Harbor . Don't forget that America was in the war in an indirect way since they gave ammo's and a lot of stuffs to UK/France.Trust me i'm not focused on an anti-american sentiment , i'm giving you facts dude, and i'm not insulting Americans , i'm insulting America (which is a big difference). And i'm not expecting any awar of what i'm saying. It's true that all the countries think they are the greatest in their minds and killed innocents, but America is the first one in killing innocents. My eyes are open and i don't see hate only in America.
Do u speak french ? i can debat easier with you cuz my english sucks.
Peace out.

Sorry I don't speak french.. Yes America was in the war indirectly, but they weren't in the most important way.. The war needed men, and also they needed America in full production of war equipment. Before pearl harbor there was not a lot of tank, plane, etc.. Production going on... After pearl harbor the entire focus of the American's became war...

Without Pearl Harbor you could argue that it would have taken 5-10 more years before the Nazi's could have been defeated.. The Americans helped win the war faster and you can thank Pear Harbor for that.. Those are facts...

As for Americans making fun of Canadians, we do that to! Every Canadian knows a good American joke, but thats in our nature. Canadians have a good sense of humour, we don't take it personally when Americans poke fun at us because we do it to them...

I'm not defending America, I'm disagreeing with your points... I also think America as a government is very bad, I could give lots of examples but I think its not the place to discuss it..

Why do you tell me to stop defending America, I thought the point of life was to be your own person, not what others tell you to be

no, I don't really care about pearl Harbour, cause otherwise America would eventually joined the war. For example, Saving private Ryan was a great success in Europe, because it had a lot to do with Europe itself, Pearl harbour.........nobody in Europe gives a shit about pearl Harbour, when that attack took place Holland was allready overtaken by the germans and the war was busy allready

I just think that this movie is turning out to be really bad in Europe, in America it could be a hit, but in Europe.........NO!!!

The only thing why the movie isnt 100% pro america and saves the japanese from totaly humiliation in that movie.. is cause of the fact that the earnings from titanic were 20% from japanese

Pearl harbor is a disney production ... well the company is to sissy like and scared to even make a lign on the poster like: "The brilliant come back of america after the weak attack of china" They first wanted a line like that.. but they decided not for the previously stated fact

ps PH has got 6.3/10 (924 votes) hehe

pps New tagline is: It was the end of innocence, and the dawn of a nation's greatest glory

GreetZz..

I don't doubt that Pearl Harbor won't do all that well in Europe. Remember I am Icelandic so I do know what people tend to think...

But my point was not the success of the movie but instead saying Europeans should care about Pearl Harbor.. I mean that by if it wasn't for that attack many more Europeans could have died and the war could have lasted a lot longer.. Thats something you should think about.

Even Winston Churchill was quoted as saying that in many ways he felt relieved that the Japanese bombed the Americans..

As for why we discuss history, well any historian will tell you the more you know your past the less likely we are to repeat our mistakes... Its important to understand and appreciate the past, it can teach us many things...

I engage in these discussions because I enjoy debating points of view, I don't think discussions are somehow bad because we might not agree. I think if people can intelligently discuss things its a great thing to do. You learn alot debating with other people, so its a shame some people avoid it because they may disagree with someone else...

Peace

I'm glad they didn't go with that line since is was Japan and not China who attacked Pearl Harbor

Disney film? Wasn't it Touchstone and Jerry Bruckeimer films.. I know Beuna Vista distributed it (Buena Vista is a disney company), but they didn't make it..

And as for the tough critics, well if you know hollywood at all, its been a trend for Big summer movies to be blasted by critics out to make names for themselves... These big summer movies are intented to entertain with big explosions, mindless dialogue, and lots of guns ....

Anyways, see Tora! Tora! Tora! for a much better story, but for the bombing of Pearl Harbor sequence you HAVE to see this movie just for that amazing 30 minutes...

Peace....

I just came back from seeing the movie. I was disappointed with the ending because they never showed the Hiroshima bombing. The best part of the movie was undoubtedly the Japanese attack.

Yep, contradicting in such a short sentence, thats hard to do!

Best country to live in is Canada by the way, Oh yeah and Iceland.. Well so is Australia, Holland, Spain, Portugal.... etc....

Best place to live is often where you live is it not
