Its not just oil as far as i can see, the war hasnt even ended and everyones bidding for contracts and arguing who is gonna do the rebuilding, Australia wants a piece since it helped during the war. Dubya doesnt want anyone who didnt help destroy it to get anywork in the rebuild process.

The official production capacity is 2.5 MB/D, but unofficially Irak is producing more and selling it on the black market to at least Jordan and Syria. This means, its oil infrastructure is working. no?

When the regime will change, those "unofficial" barrels will be back on the market plus the 2.5 millions already produced. It should bring the oil prices way down. Moreover, the threat of war now gone, it can stay down for a while.

But developping Iraq's oil fields will let the country increase its production by 1MB/D every year to a maximum of 10MB/D or so. This will guarantee that oil prices remain low and even maybe go lower. It will reduce Saudi Arabia role as premiere oil producer and off course keep the US economy booming for a long time to come

yes nothing constructive, first part of the century under colonial rule by Ottoman/French rule yay! Then second part entangled in the Arabic/Israeli conflict (like every other arabic nation)

and then invade Lebanon, yes you sound like a desperate Lebanese. May I remind you that the lebanese govt asked for Syrian intervention to end the mess of civil war you lebaneses got yourself into. Moreover the Baath party in power considers Lebanon as part of Syria, so off course they're staying.

and there was 6 wars, the last one not officialy over. All were lost thanks to the American support

How is it supposed to take 10 years to rebuild the refinaries!?!? The US has saved enough OIL plants. Where do you think the US buys oil from!?! ( before the war ) .. it bought oil from Iraq but through 3rd parties. Now, if the many refinaries saves are on US hands now or allies, how are they not to benefit the US?!?! ..

Also, I see all this talk about Syria, why didn't the US go over Syria and do them first as a threat to Iraq?!?. Syria looks to me even WORST then Iraq by the thinks you guys are mentioning here.

The reconstruction effort is not only rebuild oil refineries ... it's to rebuild the infrastructure of Iraq such as transportation systems, roads, cities, schools, etc.

Hmmm....Israel looks pretty much like Iraq to me. Flagrant and constant violations of UN treaties, charters, and resolutions, weapons of mass destruction, annihilation of a weaker people, military tribunals, etc. Not to mention attacks on citizens, bulldozing neighborhoods. Of course the Palestinians are going to commit suicide bombings...it's their only way of fighting back. Remember, Israel took over their territory just like Iraq took over Kuwait. And Israel refuses to leave. If it was so wrong for Iraq to invade Kuwait, than why is it right for Israel to still be occupying Palestinian territory??? If Kuwaitis fought back against Iraq, would they be terrorists??? Well? There is one reason the UN has not declared war on Israel, and that is the US. We are Israel's only ally in the world, simply because they have a demand for our weapons. I wonder how much of that aid we gave to Israel is going straight to our defense contractors.

Since I can forsee some knucklehead claiming that "Israel doesn't use their WMD, but Iraq does!" I am going to state right now that Iraq's use of chemical weapons was encouraged by pretty much the same administration that is in power in the US today. The same Cheney/Rumsfeld/HWBush/Wolfowitz and God knows who else clique. The same evil empire, just a different boneheaded figurehead (Reagan). It is widely known fact that this administration sold Iraq chemical weapons, provided Iraq with military intelligence, supported Saddam Hussein, and looked the other way while the profits rolled in. All this because they wanted revenge on the new government in Iran that overthrew the CIA's government. Reagan admitted this in an interview. So first we sell Iraq chemical weapons, and then we bombard them with cluster bombs because they "have" them 15 years later. Secondly, another moron will tell me "Israel does not support terrorists." Well, quite frankly, they do, just not terrorists that hurt us. A few months ago, the US agreed to let Israli assasins into our country to "take out whoever they needed to fight terror." That sounds more like terrorism to me. And don't forget, Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden are enemies! Saddam Hussein has long held at bay the Islamist extremists in Iraq. And how many Iraqis were involved with 9/11?? That's right, none! Yet over 70% of Americans think that Iraq was involved! Sooner or later, Americans are going to see what a farce the American propaganda machine has cooked up this time, and this band of hethens will be exposed for what they are.

Peace and Love to you all,
Johnny
