this might sound stupid... but whats the difference? is it just labeling tracks with the keycode number? if so, i don't think i ever realized that there was an easier way to do it.
it was fun trying to explain harmonic mixing to all the raver kids there when they'd see the harmonic mixing wheel sitting on top of the decks, lol.

Was the set recorded?
it was, but i'm not sure how good it is. it definitely needs a master and some editing. it's a huge file so i haven't had a chance to get it from RJT yet, but i'm curious to hear it just to hear how some of my mixes turned out.

The mixing is fine, but the volume on the recording goes up throughout the night and needs to be normalized.
And for the record, having been a "DJ" for only a year, Myra could outmix Tiesto 9 times out of 10.

i can only hope and dream that my technical skills are as solid as his.
actually my biggest screw-up was when i accidentally hit the Play/Pause button on the CDJ with my CD case when i was moving it around. luckily it only paused it for a second so i was able to tap the button again to resume playing. i was just glad i didn't hit the cue button, omg that would've sucked.
normalizing sets are a bitch. just sticking it under some limiting/compression malarky gets the job right but can sometimes fuck up the sound. tried once to normalize an 90min set manually in audition, spent an hour doing it it like uberprecisely and then just really couldn't be arsed so i just raised some parts and lowered some. and then stuck some minor compression on it

The problem for me with compression is that I always end up overdoing it, I can never find the spot where my highs aren't just completely being squashed.
For some reason, it just seems easy to me to manually normalize...
