Going through the discussions of Movement 2004 and FUSE:In 2005 that are up on the DCS and DetroitLuv boards is pretty hilarious right now.
I really can't believe how much the festival has changed in 3-4 years - used to be that guys like Plaslaiko, Saunderson, and Kenny Larkin were the "huge" names. Those guys are all great, but man did it ever feel like just a bunch of Detroit buddies throwing one big free (at least in 04) rave for their friends.
Now it rivals any of the big jamband festivals - check out this article, sums up the fest itself very well:
Also, my buddy Pete really summed up our last cab ride experience pretty well:

Heh. The bit about the cab sounds like the ride that we had when leaving the Old Miami that RJT alluded to earlier.
We called a Checker cab but got antsy and took some ghetto jitney that arrived first. While waiting we "took in a stray" and offered to have him share a cab with us. RJT starts trying to shout to the guy to turn the meter on as soon as we started moving, but he barely had a voice and the guy didn't listen. This guy is driving like he's missing a tire or something - weaving erratically enough that we're being tossed around, tailgating like mad, accelerating into stoplights and jamming on the brakes. We stop at a stop sign and the cabbie starts screaming at some guy in the next car to put his hand inside the car. (It was hanging out outside the window.) The other guy sorta looks confused, pulls his hand in and puts up the window.
At this point our "stray" gets angry and tells the cabbie (I'm not kidding) "Why you gotta fuck with the out of towners? You're supposed to be a welcoming city. What the hell is wrong with you!?!" and it ends in the cabbie talking shit and more or less threatening the guy - but buckling, shutting up and just driving. Our stray was a local, thankfully. Their exchange ended up with him firmly telling the driver "Your meter isn't on. You're taking us to and it'll be $15 and that will be fine."
So, it ended up being $3 per person for our ride from the Old Miami. And we got a story out of it. Can't really complain.
I still don't know what the hell the purple Aborigine was going on about.
What's funnier is that I found out our friends Mathias and Chelsea (who we stayed with for the festival) had nearly the EXACT same experience leaving Old Miami.
Fucking Detroit - it's a great story now, but I honestly thought the last thing that might happen to me in Detroit was that I'd be killed in a cab.
