Hell yeah HIIT works.
After I finish P90X and take a week or two break I'm jumping into Insanity.
You want some HIIT, Insanity is the way to go. I can't wait to start it. P90X doesn't really destroy my body anymore (Except for plyometrics woo).
I love that dead feeling you get after a really intense workout. I LIKE PAIN!

Awesome stuff Chris. REALLY awesome. If the people around you IRL aren't telling you everyday what a fantastic job you've done and are doing, then print this post and hang it next to your mirror or something.

those are cool....if you have the right doorframe for it. if not, yur fuuuuucked

Goddamn I'm out of shape. Just went for a run (lol, barely) for the first time since October and it was absolute terror.

been doing weights for the last 6 months or so (first few months were slacking though), mostly a 2 day split between push/pull exercises using dumbells, barbell, ez curl and a door frame pull up bar. getting close to my first goal to bench my own weight (~95 kg).. and making strides everywhere else, i can actually crank out a few dead hang chin ups now.
really stepped my game up in the last month though. manning up and targeting my neglected areas... doing squats, hindu squats, deadlifts to get my lower body up to speed... and stretching to cure myself of my retarded hamstrings which are like rocks. trying to fit in a lot of core/balance exercises too.
the real challenge will be starting cardio when it gets a little warmer. i am definitely the worst skilled person i've ever known when it comes to running/endurance. but like everything else i'm sure it will be easy to keep going once i see a little improvement . finally feel committed to my other main goal which is to get under 15%BF for the first time in my life.
so motivated. even after a sketchy weekend bender i did my 2 day routine and stuck to the meat and veggies... prime time bitches.

Hehe thanks!
My mom tells me she's proud of me for sticking with it all the time.
The encouragement really helps too, thanks again.
I'm pushing to be down 60 lbs by April 12. Might be stretch but imma try anyway. It'll put me at the weight I was out of bootcamp. If not 50 lbs aint so bad either.

i took my PT test today. and holy shit i only did 39 situps in a minute. lowest situp score/count ever! apparently i have not been targeting my abs. like at all. LOL.
for our test we have two options: either pushups/situps and then the 1.5 mile run, or 1.5 mile run first, then pushups/situps. i did the run first for the first time ever, and i kind of liked it ; but that i think is what caused my situps to suck so bad. oh well. still did 60 pushups
i haven't run at ALL this whole year. but the workouts i've been doing helped the legs. my legs weren't tired during the run as much as i thought they might be, but i was out of breath for sure. lungs aren't used to it at all. lol whoops. i ran a mile and a half in 13:39. not my slowest time (doing it w/ a prostate infection last year was my worst ) but still not something i'm happy with.
but it's finally warm out, so here comes the outdoor running!

D'oh, sit-ups are a bogus exercise for uninformed people that does nothing for your abs and fucks up your back. Dumbass.
