4th Two Tribes for me. It was OK, I had a dance, heard some good tracks- though disappointed in the actual sets. Nothing really grabbed me of the ones I chose to see. I can but dream of 2004!
Went for a wander at one pont trying to find something special though, and certainly found it in TECHNASIA!!! They were so awesome!! Would not miss these guys for the world again.
Schulz was great early, then a got a bit too driving towards the middle so I went to the Function Rooms (heard Schulz's last half hour was brilliant, so damn I missed that!)
Ali B was alright.
Dave Pham's last half that I caught was unreal!
Lavelle was a disappointment for me. He had this really annoying tendency to bring the crowd right up to that explosive point and then instead of delivering, just brought it right back down. Nah uh, not cool.
Graham was good, but I couldn't find a dance rhythm! Whenever he'd smash it with a heavy, driving bass it was as though it was just a few too less bpm's I'm used to having music smashed to. Weird feeling. But definitely enjoyable.
Um, who else?
Seigling was banging. Angello played the One Love CD.
Had decided against Armin after previous encounters, but rocked up for the last two tracks of his set and they were so good, the atmosphere was great. Big loss on my part!
Kai Tracid I was really into. But then my friends who had been difficult and sulky all night all decided to call it a night
Actually maybe that was the problem! There's only so many times you can ask 'are you ok/do you want to check out another set/is there anything I can do/can i get you drink etc' before it brings you down a wee bit!
Think Future should ditch the Function Room support idea. It's seriously so disappointing to go to rooms that have great acts playing, with no people and consequently no atmosphere.
