Anyone have a preference? I was looking at footgloves:

I've seen a couple people wearing them and they're not TOO expensive ($80 for the pair I'd need/want). Granted, they're uglier than sin but the concept behind them is decent I think. My trepidation comes in the fact that I don't think I could run in them outright and I wanna be able to run distance immediately.
Also -- the smell. I am assuming they're machine washable, but fuck, that means a lot of washing.
So I dunno. |
i'm a runner and i can tell you right now, DON'T get foot gloves for immediate distance running... heed your trepidation.
i could see you trying to go barefoot on grass for a while, and then transitioning to the FG for longer distances and on harder surfaces, but you are asking for trouble going from your old asics to FGs... you would lose so much support and cushioning overall making that dramatic of a switch, that you have to give the muscles that stabilize your body (in your lower limbs, feet, ankles) a chance to develop.
if you were feeling a blister on your heel from your old asics, and you try using the foot gloves get ready for a whole new world of pain.
granted, that's not to say that you couldn't get used to foot gloves just walking around. but running in them is asking to be injured.
go with another pair of asics. great running shoe.
