i disagree...
when you go out to see a trance or maybe a really good prog or house dj, for a nice party, i think people would much rather see others dressed nicely. ppl at big events that just wear rolled up pants and a hoodie show no imagination. why not dress up to see a top dj? the skimpy clothing factor might also (sometimes) have to do with people that get hot easily? some people can stand high temperatures easier than others you kno? so if you see someone with no shirt on or a "skanky" top, maybe they would passing out if they wern't wearing that. also, some "skanky" tops might actually b classsy, and the ones wearing hoodies and running shoes might not realize that since the level of their own "class" isn't too great.
i mean even if you don't think this is the case a lot of the time? I think it definately is some of the time

I vote for well dressed women (and men)... gimme a break about the attitude about hotties. Some amazingly dressed girls are very nice and talktive... of course there's some snobby ones out there, but it takes top 3 seconds to spot them and steer away.
if you can't spot the snobby ones, well my friend, its your problem

i don't think there is any shame in putting extra effort into getting dressed up and going out. i go out about every other month and i really look forward to my nights out and try to take extra care in how i look. of the many times i've been out, only 2 times has it ever been w/o a SO, so i'm not getting decked out to get hit on.
i have, and have friends that have gotten hit on/sexually harrassed in clubs and outside of them in casual/demure dress, so i think that it's unfair to say that 1 thing is a result of another.
also, i can understand why women do dress that way...i mean, they see guys ogling the chicks in maxim or whateva and try to emmulate. it' sending mixed messages to say thta those women are sexy, but the girls at the club look slutty.
just some thoughts....

i love a well dressed fashionable girl..those who are wearing training suits and such can be as cute as hell and wont do it for me...i would rather date a well dressed fashionable girl that is ok looking than a girl that is cute as hell but just dresses like whatever..also it differs how a girl carry herself..not the clothes..two girls can wear the same outfit but one might look like a slut but the other looks very elegant..

Why would you say that just because a chick dresses up, she's looking for attention or wants to get hit on? Let's face it, some chicks want to look nice when they go out because they just want to look nice for themselves. I like to dress up when I go out to dinner not because I want to attract chicks but because it feels nice to be somewhat stylish sometimes instead of wearing the usual grub gear all the time. Same thing applies to going out clubbing. Trust me, I'm all about wearing whatever suits your mood but why stereotype all the chicks who dress nicely? For me it's a nice departure from the rave scene.
